Derelict house under discussion
The bungalow in The Larches has been derelict for several years.
The bungalow in The Larches has been derelict for several years.

THE future of a derelict council house will be discussed following complaints from a nearby residents' association.

A petition with 52 signatures was handed into Hillingdon Council at the beginning of this year regarding 35 The Larches, in Hillingdon.

The objections were voiced by members of The Larches Residents' Association who were demanding immediate action in resolving the issue about the house.

For years, the council has been undecided over who would occupy the house.

It was suggested by council officers the Hillingdon East Safer Neighbourhood Team could use it as a base.

A meeting will be held on Thursday, May 8 at 7.30pm, where the residents will be advised of the council's decision.

There is an empty house in my road owned by Co-Op Homes. I have asked LBH for help in getting this house back in the housing chain but to no avail, Co-Op says that it needs major works, it is an end terrace house and it is a blot on our landscape. With current housing shortages it is a disgrace that so many houses are left empty.
